| Heaven is a Place on Earth | Foomatic | Black Mirror: San Junipero | Heaven is a Place on Earth, Belinda Carlise | 04:09 | Another challenge. How do you encapsulate the full impact of this episode in 4 min? I wanted someone who had not seen the ep to be able to understand what was happening, without giving away the mystery that made this ep magical. This ep was such a light at the end of the tunnel for many queer woman, and I wanted to pay it homage in the best way I knew how. | vid on YouTube |
| The Heir | Foomatic | Wynonna Earp | Raise Hell, Brandi Carlile | 04:17 | I love character studies. I love exploring all the things that make a person who they are, and why they do the things to do. I view this one as parallel to Leksa kom Trikru, and tried to dig deep into who Wynnona is as a person: fiercely loyal, unapologetically brash, but with a vulnerability that makes me crack at the edges. | vid on YouTube |
| Leksa kom Trikru | Foomatic | The 100 | Time, Hans Zimmer | 04:29 | Honestly this is the vid that really changed the trajectory of my vidding style. Being able to use clean dialogue really opened up a whole new word of storytelling for me, and this vid came at a time when so many people were hurting from the death of Lexa. I don't normally go for instrumentals, but the slow build of this piece by Hans Zimmer echoed the rise and fall of Lexa and was cathartic for people who were navigating a new kind of grief: the loss of an iconic character that spoke to thousands of LGBTQ women. | vid on YouTube |
| Carry Me Home | Foomatic | Clexa, The 100 | Care, Robot Koch | 04:27 | I heard this song while I was on break in a training song, and it struck me as being haunting yet comforting. Season 3B of the 100 was such a clusterfuck and disappointment. I really wanted to explore Clarke's journey without Lexa, since the show seemed to literally forget the impact The Commander had on her. I think narratively, this is the most intricate vid I've put together, creating Lexa's presence throughout the vid even though she didn't make a physical appearance until the very last episode of the season. | vid on YouTube |
| What Goes Around (Comes Around) | Foomatic | Clexa | What Goes Around (Comes Around), Justin Timberlake | 04:04 | AUs are a beast, and I wanted a break from my usual and challenge myself into creating an entirely new story out clips the fandom has seen many, many times. I pat myself on the back constantly for coming up with the surprise ending for this vid, lol. | vid on YouTube |
| Run This Town | Foomatic | Anissa Pierce, Black Lightning | Run This Town, Jay-Z | 03:23 | First. Black. Lesbian. Superhero. I love how badass this is and the build up to seeing her in suit and fighting the good fight. | vid on Vimeo |
| Crazy In Love | Foomatic | Gypsy | Crazy In Love, Beyonce | 03:49 | Man this couple was toxic AF. The real draw for me was Sydney, trying to figure out what the fuck was going on in her head. You never quite know if she's really just a lonely housewife or a mega fucked up manipulator. My favorite part is Naomi Watts looking straight into the camera on Beyonce's exhale. | vid on YouTube |
| Muddy Waters | Foomatic | Clexa, The 100 | Muddy Waters, LP | 03:51 | If I had to pick my favorite Clexa vid, it would be this one. What speaks to me about them is the constant push and pull of duty and love, of hope and despair, the dance between obligation and free will. This song had delicious downbeats and a wealth of dynamics that mirrored the ups and downs of their relationship. | vid on YouTube |
| Welcome Home | Foomatic | Wynonna Earp | Welcome Home, Son (Reprise), Radical Face | 02:32 | Nicole so often times gets defined by her relationship with Waverly, and honestly it's a disservice to her. She is has a depth of love that goes beyond just Waverly; you see it in the dedication to her job, you see it in her face when she's with friends, and you see it in her unwavering loyalty to protect the people of purgatory. | vid on YouTube |
| Love on the Brain | Foomatic | WayHaught, Wynonna Earp | Love on the Brain, Rihanna | 03:48 | BECAUSE PRETTY GIRLS AND SLOW MOTION KISSES OKAY. | vid on YouTube |
| Wonder Woman | Foomatic | Wonder Woman | Warriors, Imagine Dragons | 02:52 | It's frickin' Wonder Woman, what more do I have to say? | vid on YouTube |
